Our gorgeous bride Katie and Ian were married in May this year in the picturesque Tocal Homestead in the Hunter Valley. Featuring vintage crystal vases holding hundreds of delicate bouquets, burlap drapes, a photo-booth with a cow, an ice cream truck and fun lawn games – this was clearly an event not to miss! Katie and Ian worked hard to ensure their wedding day and night perfectly reflected their individual styles and their personality as a couple.
Katie came to us 8 weeks before her wedding after a disaster had occurred with a gown she previously purchased elsewhere. After a calm discussion, we right away knew which gown would be the perfect gown for her and began the process of having it made in four weeks – the fastest order we’ve ever made! Huge thanks to Karen Willis Holmes for working with us to make sure it was possible!
‘Angelina’ by Karen Willis Holmes was the perfect gown for Katie. Featuring delicate vintage inspired shoulder motifs and beautifully draped soft tulle, the gown matched both Katie and her 1930′s vintage veil perfectly.

Katie’s bouquet featured Freesias and Baby’s Breath.

We absolutely love the inclusion of the couple’s two giant puppies!

The gorgeous scenery at Tocal Homestead made for some absolutely stunning photographs.

We love the inclusion of old family wedding photographs from both sides of the family.

Giang jenga, Bocce, and horse shoe toss!

Katie and Ian made sure there was entertainment for those of all ages throughout the day. Giant Jenga, Bocce and the horse shoe toss were fantastic ideas for children of all ages!

Loving the lit up sign of the couples names to welcome guests to the reception!

The gorgeous table settings featured vintage crystal vases filled with fresh flowers with lace and burlap table runners.

The couple catered for all ages with colouring books, a photo-booth featuring a cow and an ice cream truck!

While the couple created a fun, relaxed and celebratory event; the clear focus of their special day was their absolute love and devotion to one another. Katie and Ian managed to include their large family in their wedding, including their giant puppies!
Congratulations Katie and Ian, it was an absolute pleasure to help you on the journey to your special day and these stunning photos are definitely a reward!

“I just want to take the opportunity to thank you again for the amazing job you did for Ian and I’s wedding day (18-05-13). We were truly honoured to have you as a part of our special day!

The dress was everything I had hoped for and more. Tracy you are so gifted- the dress was so comfortable and fit me absolutely flawlessly! I can not thank you enough for the work you put in to giving me the most gorgeous dress that suited my shape and personal style perfectly. Your work received so many compliments throughout the day/night and despite our wedding taking place at a farm, the dress looked just as amazing at midnight as it did at midday.

Even though we were working to a super tight schedule, Kimberley’s professional yet wonderfully friendly manner ensured a relaxed, stress-free lead up to the wedding. I would not hesitate to recommend Akina Bridal to friends, family and strangers a-like! You have my sincere thanks- if I ever get married again, I know who to call!!”
